Characteristics of the Home Care Industry

Product and production readiness are assessed according to formula, intended use, claims, location, and scale of activity.

  1. Product performance and quality

Define specifications, required testing, stability, packaging compatibility, dosage, and instructions for use.

  2. Facilities and safety

Evaluate materials, equipment, storage, filling processes, workplace safety, waste, and cross-contamination controls.

  3. Classification and requirements

Products classified as household health supplies (PKRT) follow the Ministry of Health requirements applicable to the product and activity.

  4. Sales and working capital

Account for materials and packaging, distribution, marketing, inventory, and customer payment cycles.

Notes on product classification and requirements

Business licensing, manufacturing standards, personnel, documentation, testing, distribution authorization, labelling, and halal requirements are assessed for each product. Shared cosmetics and PKRT facilities require evaluation and the appropriate approval process.
